  • On-the-Job Training for NEW EMPLOYEES - On-the-Job (OJT) training is designed to provide occupational training in your work environment and to your specifications. Through this service, companies can be reimbursed up to 50% of the wages paid to a training participant (maximum salary reimbursements are $3,500 for salaries up to $17.74 per hour and $5,500 for salaries of $17.75 per hour or higher). There are two ways you can access On-the-Job Training dollars: Call WorkForce One directly at (954) 677-JOBS (5627). WorkForce One also partners with the Industry Based Training Department (IBT) of Broward Community College to administer this program. You can contact them at (954) 201-8054.   • Employed Worker Training for EXISTING EMPLOYEES - The goal of this locally funded program is to upgrade the skills of your existing employees for the purpose of advancing their wages and positions, and to assist employees in retaining jobs that provide self-sufficient employment.   • If you are a construction-related business in Broward County, WorkForce One can help you get reimbursed for On-the-Job training of new employees with up to $1,400 for each new employee trained and retained. Critical shortage need areas include:  air conditioning; refrigeration and heating; carpentry; drywall; electrical; masonry; plumbing; and roofing.   • Incumbent Worker Training for EXISTING EMPLOYEES - This program provides grant funding for customized training for existing for-profit businesses. Through this customer-driven program, Florida is able to effectively retain and keep businesses competitive through upgrade skills training for existing full-time employees.   • Customized Training - This program is designed for six or more new employees who need to learn the same skills. Candidates are referred to you for selection, based on your hiring profile. Trainees become your employees after successful completion of the training program. This unique, comprehensive service is provided at no-cost to the employer and is customized to the needs of the business. WorkForce One partners with the Industry Based Training Department (IBT) of Broward Community College to run this program.
